Our children need to make the most of their time at Shaftesbury C of E Primary School, to do this we make every effort to make sure your child is as settled and happy as possible; that they are well and that they attend school every day. We know that during their primary school years every day counts!
At Shaftesbury C of E Primary we are lucky to have a Pastoral Support Team: Mrs J. Frost, Mrs S.Yates, and Mrs L.Heenan.
We work closely with teachers and parents to make sure your children are in school and learning as well as possible. We identify any issues or areas of concern.
We act as a link bringing families, outside agencies and the school together. The agencies we work with include:
• School nurses/Health Visitors
• Education Welfare Officer
• Social Services
• Housing Services
• Youth and Community Police
• Children’s Centre
• Citizens Advice Bureau
• Women’s Support Services
• Counselling Services
The pastoral team is easily accessible in school and is here to help you with any issues which may be affecting your child’s education. If you need any help or advice please contact us via the school office.
The Cocoon Club is an opportunity for children to play a wide range of games and other fun social activities within a smaller group. It takes place at lunchtimes in a safe and nurturing environment. It is available for those children who are unsettled, need someone to talk to or those that need support with social skills.
Regular school attendance is an important part of giving your child the best possible start in life. Talking to your child and their teachers could help solve any difficulties in getting your child to go to school – and there are other forms of support available if you still have problems.
We have an attendance manager, Mrs S Yates. If you have any concerns or issues please contact her via the school office.
